How we approach stump grinding

We bring a grinder on site and work the stump down below grade, chewing through the wood and surface roots until the area is level and ready for what comes next.

Whether you're planning to reseed the lawn, plant something new, or just want the tripping hazard gone, grinding clears the way without the excavation a full stump removal would require.

Stump grinding FAQ

How far down do you grind the stump?

Standard grinding takes the stump down to about 12 inches below grade, deep enough for replanting, sod, or light construction.

What happens to the wood chips from grinding?

We can leave the ground material on site to fill the hole, or haul it away — your choice.

Can you grind a stump right after we remove the tree?

Yes, grinding can often be scheduled together with removal, or separately if you already have a stump on the property.
